My name is Natalia Fiedler and I'm a fitness trainer in Lake Placid, New York. I began using Reishi in October of 2018.
Fitness motivates me to sustain a healthy routine.
It wasn't too long ago that I was introduced to the Red Reishi mushroom by Birch Boys. I'm a fitness fanatic and enjoy running in the morning and weight lifting in the afternoon. With this daily routine, I discovered that my energy levels remain consistent despite the intensity of each exercise.
I took up running very recently and now can run seven miles each morning without much effort. I expect my body to function as efficiently as possible, therefore I rarely take up a regimen that was not repeatedly tested by athletes.
It wasn't always like this. I worked hard to get to where I am today. The key to creating a healthier habit is to continuously reject the old one. Your mind will soon forget and adopt positive results.
Why did I choose Red Reishi?
I decided to try Red Reishi for it's blood sugar stabilizing qualities. As a hypoglycemic, I have to be very careful about the foods I consume and ensure that the quality of each carbohydrate is complex.
What's the difference between complex and simple carbohydrates?
Simple carbohydrates are simple sugars and raise blood levels quickly while complex carbohydrates are starches, therefore take time to break down in the system and do not elevate blood sugar levels quickly.
Complex carbohydrates are found in foods such as:
- Oatmeal (Stell Cut oats)
- Brown rice (long grain rice)
- Sweet potatoes
- Multigrain hot cereal (mix or barley, oats, rye)
- 100% whole wheat bread
- 100% whole wheat pasta
- Legumes such as lentils
Simple carbohydrates are found in foods such as:
- Fruits (banana, mango, raisins, dates)
- Dairy products (milk, yogurt)
- Sugary Cereals (Trix, Mini Wheats, Raisin Bran)
- Sweeteners (sugar, honey)
I began drinking Red Reishi & Rose Hips Tea by Birch Boys in October. Within a week, I noticed that my cravings for sugar had significantly decreased.
My daily fitness routine...
My workout routine involves two hours of weight lifting every evening. After I leave the gym, I drink a protein shake, have a small apple, and then prepare dinner. My evening meal consists of fish or chicken over a low carb salad.
Immediately after I finished dinner, I would have craving for simple sugars. This was easily satisfied by eating a piece of dark chocolate, or having a few dry cherries.
When I began drinking Red Reishi tea in the evenings I have lost most of my sugar cravings and I do not feel my blood sugar spikes after meals.
