Chaga chunks should be simmered in a traditional saucepan on low heat for 2-3 hours. Use 1 chaga chunk to at least 1 gallon of water. After brewing, collect used chaga chunks in a sandwich bag & immediately freeze them for re-use.
Brewing in a crock pot: Place a golf-ball sized Chaga chunk in a slow cooker with at least 1 gallon of water. Steep until water turns black. Once rich & dark, Chaga tea is ready for consumption. (The chaga chunk can remain in the crock-pot. It will continue to produce tea for several days). Add a cup of fresh water for every cup of tea consumed to keep your vessel filled with ready-to-serve Chaga tea.
