Is cordyceps vegan?
Birch Boys cordyceps is vegan. Cordyceps militaris grows best on grain with a strong lipid profile, and is the most consistent species in terms of therapeutic value and stable cultivation tolerance.
Not all cordyceps is vegan, certain species like Ophiocordyceps sinenses grow on an insect host.
Is cordyceps gluten-free?
Due to cultivation on a grain substrate, we do not recommend those with gluten intolerance use cordyceps. Try our gluten-free chaga or lion's mane for a boost instead.
Why is the best cordyceps grown on grain?
Cordyceps militaris has higher potency than other species within the cordyceps genus, and it prefers to grow on substrates with a high fat percentage, as opposed to wood (which is fat-free.)

I read up about Chaga and found out that if there are liver issues it's best to avoid it so I'm not taking it even though I'm sure it's a great product.
